Dear brothers and sisters, may we move forward in faith and follow the living prophet. We can do this. We can live by ever greater faith. We can walk forward, not always ... Walk by Faith, Not by Sight. Without Job's knowing it, a dialogue took place in the invisible world. As the Lord and Satan had their strange encounter, the subject quickly turned to this well-known earthly man. The Lord calls Satan's attention to Job's exemplary life, and Satan responds with a sinister sneer. "Of course, who wouldn't serve You ...Without a vision of the future that is as tangible to us as the present, we will walk by sight, only seeing the now, rather than by faith seeing as real a true vision of the future. Without that vision, we risk trading the future for the now ( Galatians 6:9; II Thessalonians 2:15 ), a poor bargain indeed. It’s common to think that, as inspiring as the phrase sounds, walking by faith would make a person unintelligent, sheltered, and aloof. The truth is, walking by faith means being perceptive, resilient, and engaged. In 2 Corinthians 5:7, the apostle Paul says, “We live by faith, not by sight” (NIV). The ESV says, “We walk by faith, not ... By faith and not by sight. When I was held in affliction’s chain, Suffering much from disease and pain; Jesus then touched me and healed me quite, By faith and not by sight. Walking with Jesus till we shall meet, When in His likeness I stand complete, Where with the ransomed in heaven’s light, My faith is lost in sight. ---1
